How To Repair Flex Cable By Comeinhandynow

  1. is it possible to repair a flex cable?

    Hello All,

I have a Sony Ericsson Z520a and had a white screen problem. the phone worked, but merely had a white light. So I opened information technology upwards and saw that one of the connections was loose. Once information technology was re-connected the phone worked fine.

EXCEPT.. when I was trying to put back the plastic casing for the flip office..I accidentally ripped the flex cable. Is in that location a manner to fix that? will some special record piece of work? Scotch tape slid off.. and if I need to supplant it, is it simple to do, or requires some sort of welding/gluing etc?

And finally, is there a trick to getting the ribbon to stay inside the flip part without ripping information technology? When I took it apart it was folded in a sure way which obviously I did incorrect. I tried to find online images simply couldn't. IF anyone has any ideas/ suggestions I'd capeesh it.

Also, if yous know where I can buy this cablevision in the Toronto expanse I'd capeesh it. I read that I can get it off eBay, but I'd rather get it at a store.

    Cheers very much!!

  2. i dunt retrieve u tin fix the flex at that place are a lot of tiny wires inside tat is impossible for u to put bak together...

  3. taking apart the z520a was one of the hardest thing I ever done. Putting information technology back together, or trying, was even harder. I'm really surprised y'all even got it back together. If I were you, I'd just sell it on ebay or craiglist for parts and just get a different phone.

  4. Information technology's actually pretty simple to put back together a SE flip phone, it'due south just not easy at the first few tries. The thing that makes it difficult at first is figuring how to put the flex cablevision back into the hinge if you don't remember while taking information technology apart. I'd say to but be patient and don't forcefulness the flex cablevision in because information technology tin be damaged hands if you're non conscientious.

  5. thank you for all your input!

I'm becoming convinced that I should either accept it to someone who knows what they are doing to get information technology stock-still, or purchase a stock of cables to effort until I get it right.

Other than the screen glowing white twice a year (i've had the telephone for one year and one month therefore it'southward out of warranty) I similar the telephone a lot.

Thank you anyway for all your aid!

...or you tin can buy a fairly used i. I've seen some of them get for $l to as low as $30

  7. I tin can't find any data or instructions on how to accept apart (or put dorsum together for that thing) this phone? how did you find them?? and, the T6 screw driver doesn't seem to piece of work, whatever thoughts?? whatsoever links??

  8. I ripped the flex cable in my K750i one time. Unless you're a pro at micro soldering, and so I would go to www.cnn.cn and order a new flex cablevision if they have them for your model. That's what I did. It's cheap and easy.

  9. flex cablevision instructions

    Hi,

I have no thought where I plant images since information technology was a while ago. I just googled my phone type plus words like repair and pictures or something along those lines and found them.

Even so, information technology was a consummate waste of time. (including finding the special screwdriver which works but the screws are airtight so tightly i institute it hard to open). And and so I ripped the cable.

I ended upwards going to a store where they exchanged the cablevision which they charged I recall $20 for, and I paid them another $xx to just install and change it. I figured if I did information technology myself I was at risk for ripping apart another 2 or 3 of them... so financially not worth it. It was merely way too hard to wind the cord around the hinge and close it.

The telephone has worked amazing... in particulr since I am much more careful about dropping it.. which is what caused the cable to disconnect.

    Hope that is helpful.

    D.
